Shootouts are high-energy portions of golf events. Usually a small handful of players are shooting on the 9th hole, or another hole close to the clubhouse, for prizes usually from $50,000 all the way up to $1,000,000. A shootout is also an excellent way to raise money for an event, as you can charge a minimal fee to be placed into a drawing where only a handful of players will get to participate.
A shootout, unless for $1,000,000, is treated exactly the same as a hole-in-one prize.
If your shootout is for $1,000,000, read on!
